# Arsenal face competition from Real Madrid for goalkeeper

https://talksport.com/football/real-madrid-set-beat-arsenal-and-chelsea-signing-athletic-bilbao-goalkeeper-kepaArsenal are reportedly facing competition from Real Madrid in their pursuit of Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for the young Spaniard in recent times as they explore long-term options to replace their veteran shot-stopper, Petr Cech.

Kepa has been in impressive form for Bilbao this season and has attracted the interest of several clubs across Europe, with Chelsea also having previously been linked.

However, Real Madrid have entered the picture, according to Marca (via [talkSPORT](https://talksport.com/football/real-madrid-set-beat-arsenal-and-chelsea-signing-athletic-bilbao-goalkeeper-kepa)), which is sure to be something to consider for Kepa.

The reigning European champions have Keylor Navas at their disposal, along with Kiko Casilla, but it appears as though they are keeping tabs on the hugely promising goalkeeper.

Marca state that Real Madrid would be willing to cough up a sum of £18 million to lure Kepa away from Bilbao – a fee that Arsenal would surely be able to match.
