Arsenal qualified for the Europa League round of 32 against Cologne, despite enduring a rather embarrassing defeat.
Arsene Wenger heavily rotated his side as expected but saw his Arsenal side outdone by the German outfit, who came away from the match with a shock 1-0 win.
The Gunners had a few chances throughout but there was nothing to write home about, with Wenger’s side turning in an underwhelming display.
Sehrou Guirassy was judged to have been brought down in the penalty area by Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy in the second-half, which proved to be the turning point.
Guirassy stepped up to take the resulting spot kick and converted in the middle of David Ospina’s goal.
Arsenal are through to the next round but they certainly didn’t do it in style.
