Arsenal appear to be closing in on the appointment of Michael Zorc as the club’s new sporting director.
According to a report from the Mirror, the Gunners are set to confirm Zorc as their new director as an overhaul of the recruitment team continues to take place.
Reports recently have indicated that Steve Rowley, Arsenal’s head of recruitment, will be dismissed from his role in order to be replaced by Borussia Dortmund’s chief scout Sven Mislintat.

It now looks as though Mislintat will be joined by his co-worker, Zorc, who is also currently on Dortmund’s books.
Talk has been rife since the summer with regards to Arsenal appointing a sporting director in order to support Arsene Wenger more with the recruitment process and the running of the club.
Marc Overmars has been considered for the role but it looks as though Zorc is the man who will be called upon to use his experience at the Emirates to help them back to the top.
