Wenger may not stay for the duration of his contract

Arsene Wenger has admitted that he may not see out the two-year-deal in his new Arsenal contract.

After Arsenal’s FA Cup win last season, Wenger signed a new contract at Arsenal, lasting two years, to the anger of a lot of Arsenal fans, but the Frenchman may not be in charge for as long as expected.

Depending on how his side fares in the Premier League, Europa League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup this season, his position could come under review by the Arsenal board at the end if the season, despite Wenger saying he respects his contracts.

When interviewed by beIN SPORTS, as reported by The Telegraph, Wenger said

I said I sit down with the board every end of season and see where we go from there – so that’s not exactly the same.

That’s as well sometimes you know, you make a sentence and people turn it the way they would like to see it.

That’s what I said – I have a two-year contract, I will always try to go to the end of my contract but always have the honesty to sit down with the board and see where we go from there. So that’s quite simple.
