# Arsenal considering move for Ozyakup

After selling Oguzhan Ozyakup to Besiktas in 2012 for £400,000, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is weighing up the idea of attempting to re sign the player, [the Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/876871/Transfer-news-Arsenal-Tottenham-Besiktas-raid) report.

However, Wenger will face competition from North London rivals Tottenham as Mauricio Pochettino is also thought to be very keen on bringing the player to London in January.

Ozyakup, 25, has enjoyed a successful five year stint in Turkey with Besiktas, and has caught the eye of many European clubs with his performances in the middle of midfield.

An offer of no less than £11 million is the fee Besiktas are after for their Turkish international, and anything below their valuation is thought to be brushed aside.

Wenger is thought to be after his former player as a potential replacement for Mesut Ozil, who is still contemplating his future away from the Emirates, with his current deal up at the end of the campaign.
