# Koscielny reveals when he’ll retire from international duty

Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny has revealed when he will retire from international football.

Speaking to [L’Equipe](https://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/Laurent-koscielny-quittera-les-bleus-apres-la-coupe-du-monde/848834), the France international has confirmed that he will hang up his boots for his country in the upcoming summer following the 2018 World Cup.

> There is an end to everything. After the World Cup, I will be almost 33 years old, it will be time to leave the place. I have six months left in the French team to blossom and take as many memories, as my wife would say.

Koscielny remains a key player for Didier Deschamps’ side, and is still a regular for the senior side. However, with the Gunners captain approaching the twilight stage of his career, he is set to focus on his club career.

The 32-year-old has also had his fair share of injury troubles over the course of the last few seasons, and is clearly aiming to preserve his condition to prolong his playing days.

Koscielny has represented France at three major, international tournaments, and has enjoyed a successful period in his country’s colours so far.

He’ll certainly be looking to cap a fine international career with a win in a major competition, and the 2018 World Cup in Russia this summer presents as good an opportunity as ever before.
