# Dixon: Arsenal are unfixable with Wenger in charge

Lee Dixon believes Arsenal are ‘unfixable’ while Arsene Wenger is at the helm of the club.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, as covered by [Goal](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/arsenal-are-unfixable-under-wenger-they-dont-know-what/1ww4kzrqro54z1q4gi0aijfa3b), the pundit spoke of how he feels Arsenal are currently in a rut, and will not progress until Wenger is relieved of his duties.

> I honestly think they’re unfixable under Arsene. What he’s got there is he’s created an environment which the players don’t really know what they’re doing without the ball.

The former Arsenal defender’s comments echo what a large section of the club’s fan-base believe, with opinions on Wenger mainly split.

Wenger, who could set the record for the most Premier League games managed in history this season, penned a two-year contract extension at the Emirates Stadium at the end of last term, much to the dismay of pundits and supporters alike.

> It’s quite simple – when I watch them I think ‘they could beat anyone on their day going forward, but they could lose to anyone defensively’. That summed it up at the weekend against City. The Lacazette thing is another issue, as to why he’s not playing, but you play Sanchez up front, who is a chaser of the ball; if he loses the ball then he’ll chase to win it back.

> If you’ve got that, as a manager, you have to have the players to go and back that up, and he didn’t have that. He hasn’t got that because they don’t know how to do that on a regular basis – they are not a pressing side.

Arsenal are currently way off the top of the league, and don’t appear to be in line to challenge for the title yet again this season.

The Gunners are sat in 6th place, and are currently 12 points adrift of Manchester City at the top of the table.
