Arsenal eye move for Turkish international midfielder

Arsenal eye move for Turkish international midfielder

Arsenal reportedly want to re-sign Oguzhan Ozyakup from Besiktas.

According to claims from out in Turkey, as covered by talkSPORT, the Gunners are keen to land the creative midfielder, who has been courted by Premier League clubs for several years now.

Ozyakup has long been linked with a return to Arsenal following his release during his youth days at the club.

Now, though, the Turkish media are claiming that Arsenal will finally make a concrete move in an attempt to land Ozyakup, with a bid worth £10 million being plotted.

Ozyakup has been a key player for Besiktas over the course of the last few seasons, so it’s unlikely that £10m will be enough for them to be tempted into a sale.

However, it appears as though the Gunners do hold a genuine interest in Ozyakup, and could make a move for him in January.

With Mesut Ozil’s contract situation still unclear, Ozyakup would present a plausible replacement for the German international should he choose to move on.
