Arsenal set to increase Emirates capacity

Arsenal are set to add an additional 780 seats to the Emirates Stadium, taking the capacity inside the ground to 60,600, with the work being scheduled to take place at the end of the season, the Mirror report.

The Gunners are planning on adding an extra row at the ‘club level’ part of the ground, with the construction work scheduled to take place over the summers of 2018 and 2019.

However, after having to take seats out of the Emirates in recent years to comply with safety regulations, these added 780 seats will see the Emirates return to the capacity it was when the Gunners first moved into their new home in 2006.

With the demand for Arsenal tickets extremely high at the Emirates this news will be welcomed by Arsenal fans, however, the 60,600 capacity will not be more than rivals Tottenham Hotspurs’ new ground which is set to hold just over 61,500 when it opens at the beginning of next season.
