# Arsenal ‘make contact’ for Arda Turan

Arsenal have reportedly made contact with Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan’s representatives ahead of a January move.

According to reports from CNN Turk, as covered by [Inside Futbol](https://www.insidefutbol.com/2017/10/16/arsenal-linked-with-potential-january-swoop-for-barcelona-attacker/353054/), the Gunners are upping their efforts to sign the former Atletico Madrid man as they look to secure more quality in the winter transfer window.

Turan has not been a success since joining Barcelona, and has only ever been a fringe player. This has led to continuous speculation surrounding his future at the club, with Arsenal still being linked.

The report states that Turan would be keen to look into a potential move to the Emirates, while Barcelona would be open to selling the Turkish international should a reasonable offer come in.

Arsenal are at risk of losing Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil in January, as Arsene Wenger has already conceded, and Turan could be targeted as a replacement for either.

Galatasaray have also been linked with a move for Turan.
