# Arsenal baulking at Ozil demands

Arsenal are baulking at the demands made by the agent of midfielder Mesut Ozil.

The German international is out of contract at the end of the season, with Arsenal trying to get the mercurial playmaker to sign a new deal.

[According to The Mirror,](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/arsenal-wenger-mesut-ozil-contract-11338572) Ozil’s agent is asking for £350k-per-week for Ozil to commit his future to the club.

Arsenal are not willing to pay Ozil such a fee, which has left him in limbo as it stands.

Ozil has not received any offers from other clubs but will be free to speak to foreign sides in the January transfer window.

He could sign a pre-contract agreement that would see him leave on a free next summer, if Arsenal cannot secure his future before January.

There was talk that the negotiations were progressing nicely, with this news appearing to be a bump in the road.

The report also claims that Arsene Wenger does not see Ozil as a guaranteed starter this season.
