# England considering Wilshere recall

England are considering the possibility of taking Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere to the World Cup next summer.

[According to The Mirror,](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4957100/England-boss-Gareth-Southgate-eyes-Jack-Wilshere-recall.html) Gareth Southgate is a big fan of the midfielder and thinks that he can be the key to England scoring more goals.

The report claims that Southgate is worried about the lack of creativity in his current midfield selection and believes that Wilshere can add the spark England are currently missing.

England booked their place in the 2018 Russia World Cup on Thursday night with a 1-0 win over Slovenia at Wembley.

Harry Kane scored an added time goal to secure qualification with a game in-hand, with Wilshere now having the chance to represent his country in the finals next year.

The Arsenal man has not been in an England squad since last November, but has impressed in his recent performances for Arsene Wenger’s side.

Wilshere will just need to stay injury-free in the run up to next summer.
