# Usmanov urged by AST to decline Kroenke’s offer

News today has surfaced that Arsenal’s majority shareholder Stan Kroenke has made a huge bid worth around £525m to buy out Alisher Usmanov’s current share in the club.

Kroenke currently owns around 67% of the club’s shares, and Usmanov is the owner of roughly 30%. This would mean that if Usmanov does accept Kroenke’s offer, the American would effectively take full control of proceedings at the Emirates.

This looks to be a genuine possibility, with the other approximately 3% held merely by minority shareholders. So, as cited by the [Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/10/03/arsenalsupporters-trust-urge-alisher-usmanov-not-sell-shares/), the Arsenal Supoorters’ Trust have called for Usmanov to decline Kroenke’s offer and resist the temptation to sell up his share of the club.

The report claims that there is a growing concern that Usmanov is set to become more focused on his ongoing relations with Everton as a result of his lack of involvement in Arsenal’s board, which could work in Kroenke’s favour.
