News today has surfaced that Arsenal’s majority shareholder Stan Kroenke has made a huge bid worth around £525m to buy out Alisher Usmanov’s current share in the club.
Kroenke currently owns around 67% of the club’s shares, and Usmanov is the owner of roughly 30%. This would mean that if Usmanov does accept Kroenke’s offer, the American would effectively take full control of proceedings at the Emirates.

This looks to be a genuine possibility, with the other approximately 3% held merely by minority shareholders. So, as cited by the Telegraph, the Arsenal Supoorters’ Trust have called for Usmanov to decline Kroenke’s offer and resist the temptation to sell up his share of the club.
The report claims that there is a growing concern that Usmanov is set to become more focused on his ongoing relations with Everton as a result of his lack of involvement in Arsenal’s board, which could work in Kroenke’s favour.
