Manchester United are reportedly going to make a January move to sign former Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Ozil, whose Arsenal contract expires next summer.
The German playmaker has not committed to a new deal and is looking unlikely to do so, and the Independent claim that United are going to take advantage of this by trying to sign Ozil on a Bosman transfer.

A Bosman transfer is one in which a player agrees a pre-contract agreement with a new club whilst in the final six months of their contract with their current club — the player then moves to his new club on their agreed terms upon the expiry of that existing contract.
In Ozil’s case, that expiry will take place after the 30th June 2018, meaning that if he agrees a move to United in January, he will make the switch to Old Trafford on the 1st of July — meaning they’ll have business concluded with him well before the World Cup commences.
Ozil signed for Arsenal from Real Madrid in 2013, and has since made 166 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions, scoring 32 goals.
