Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has been discussing Alexis Sanchez’s influence in his decision to join the club, Goal report.
The France international finally secured a move to the Gunners in the summer for a club-record fee claimed to be in the region of £50m. He has since impressed, netting four goals in his first seven Premier League games.
Lacazette has been quoted as insisting that playing with players of Sanchez’s calibre was a fundamental reason for him choosing to make the switch to the Emirates in the summer.
That’s one of the reasons why I wanted to come to Arsenal – to play with players of [Alexis’] calibre. Just seeing him in training, I like the way he plays and his mental attitude.

His approach makes me want to play alongside him – hopefully for many years.
Sanchez himself has been at the heart of much controversy. He saw a deadline day move to Manchester City fall through at the last hurdle after Arsenal failed to sign Thomas Lemar for £92 million from Monaco.
However, his contract is quickly running down, and it appears as though both Sanchez and Mesut Ozil will depart the club in the summer for free unless they are snapped up in January.
