Arsenal have opened talks with Jack Wilshere over a new deal at the club with just months left on his current contract.
The Mirror reports that Arsene Wenger has assured the player he has a future at Arsenal, with the club aiming to reach a deal with Wilshere by the new year.
The England international will put pen to paper on a new four-year contract if all goes well.
Wilshere’s contract expires at the end of the season but the club have opened talks after a string of impressive performances in the Carabao Cup and Europa League.

The midfielder has shaken off injury problems that halted his season on loan at Bournemouth to earn a place back in the first-team squad at the Emirates.
Wenger still considers the Englishman to be a key part of his plans, despite his limited action in the Premier League so far this season.
