# Arsenal man ready to snub Real Madrid

Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez is reportedly prepared to ignore interest from Real Madrid, with Manchester City still his preferred destination.

According to a report from the [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/alexis-sanchez-snub-real-madrid-11172730) today, the Chilean international has his heart set on reuniting with Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium. The pair worked together in a hugely successful period for Barcelona.

Sanchez, who is in the final year of his deal at the Emirates, is said to be a target for Real Madrid as they look to bolster their attacking options even further. However, it looks as though he will rebuff them as he waits on a move to City.

The former Barca attacker was all but set to join the Citizens on the final day of the summer transfer window as Guardiola’s side had a bid worth up to £60 million accepted.

However, as Arsenal’s deal to sign Thomas Lemar from Monaco as a replacement fell through, the move was cancelled.
