Barcelona are interested in signing Mesut Ozil today, according to a report from Cadena COPE.
After receiving a huge sum of money for Neymar and also not having a great start to the season, Barca are looking to improve their squad with the funds they received.
They have brought in Nelson Semedo from Benfica, Gerard Deulofeu from Everton, Paulinho from GZ Evergrande and Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund and now the four timesChampions League winners reportedly want to add Ozil to this list.
With the possibility of Liverpool’s Phillipe Coutinho joining the Catalans fading away, Barca have become interested in Ozil, who has only got a year left on his current contract at The Emirates.
However, if Barcelona want their man, they will have to be quick, as the Spanish transfer window slams shut tonight.
It would be very unlikely for Arsenal to sell their German play-maker, as they have already had a poor start to the Premier League season and refused to sell Alexis Sanchez without getting a replacement in and with the English window closes, they would not be able to find someone to come in and take Ozil’s place.
