Arsenal’s bid for Monaco star Thomas Lemar has fallen further into jeopardy, with the Frenchman keen to play Champions League football.
Sky Sports have suggested the player would therefore prefer a move to Premier League rivals Liverpool.

Earlier, it was reported that Arsenal had met AS Monaco’s valuation of 100 million euros by bidding £92 million, however they then reportedly ran out of time in securing a deal for Lemar, due to his international duty this evening.

This latest news adds to Arsene Wenger’s transfer woes just hours after midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain left called time on his Emirates stay and joined Liverpool in a deal worth £40m.
Arsenal, who have signed Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac this summer, sit 16th in the Premier League after a rather poor start to the campaign, picking up three points from their first three games.
However this news means that Chilean star Alexis Sanchez looks set to remain an Arsenal player, with the Gunners unwilling to sell until they have found a replacement for their talisman.
