Arsenal have submitted a huge £92 million offer for AS Monaco attacker Thomas Lemar, as per Sky Sports.
In perhaps the clearest indication that Alexis Sanchez could be closing in on his move to Manchester City, Arsenal appear to be preparing for life without the Chilean.
Monaco are said to be ‘softening’ their stance on the player after they remained determined not to sell earlier in the window.
Reports earlier in the day had suggested that Arsenal could sanction a deal to sell Sanchez if they were able to get a replacement line up in the limited time remaining in the window.
Lemar has been linked with both Arsenal and Liverpool throughout the summer, but after losing several first-team players already this summer, Monaco were keen to keep hold of him, but that now looks unlikely.
Tiemoue Bakayoko has left for Chelsea while Benjamin Mendy and Bernardo Silva left for Manchester City. Kylian Mbappe is also thought to be closing in on a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
