# Arsenal confident of landing Thomas Lemar

Arsenal are said to be confident about their chances of signing Thomas Lemar from AS Monaco today.

Guillem Balague reports that the Gunners are willing to sell Alexis Sanchez if they can complete a deal for Lemar, who would act as his direct replacement.

Sanchez now appears to be closing in on a move to Manchester City, which will bring an end to one of the stories of the summer.

Rumours of a move that could see Raheem Sterling move to the Emirates as part of the deal have been dismissed with the player determined to stay at the club.

Reports have suggested that Arsenal did not believe they would be able to agree a deal to sign a replacement for Sanchez in time, but Lemar’s arrival would allow Sanchez to finally depart the club.
