# Man City offer cash plus Raheem Sterling for Alexis Sanchez

Manchester City have made a player-plus-cash offer to Arsenal for Alexis Sanchez, according to J[ohn Cross of the Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/manchester-city-make-sensational-offer-11073844).

Sanchez’s contract with the Gunners expires at the end of this season and at that point, he’d be allowed to leave for free, so City are hoping to test their resolve now by making a spectacular bid that automatically gives the Gunners an attacking player as a replacement.

There is no word on the fee involved but City paid around £50m to sign Sterling from Liverpool so it’s clear that they value Sanchez very highly.

Arsenal have been adamant that they will not be selling the Chilean forward and that they are prepared to let him leave for nothing in the summer if they can’t persuade him to put pen-to-paper on a new deal but City will hope that by including an international attacking player as part of the bid, Arsenal’s hard-line stance will soften.
