# Arsenal outcast offered to Premier League newcomers

Premier League newcomers Brighton have been offered the chance to sign Mathieu Debuchy from Arsenal this summer.

The [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/arsenal-offer-forgotten-man-mathieu-11072683) reports that Chris Hughton’s side are pondering a move for the Frenchman, who has struggled to find a new club.

Arsenal have been unable to offload the defender but have told the former Newcastle man that he can leave for nothing this summer.

Injuries have halted Debuchy’s Arsenal career and he has not featured for the Gunners since November last year.

Wage demands may be a struggle for Brighton, who have picked up just one point from their opening three games in the Premier League.

The Gunners have been desperate to trim their squad this summer and clear some ‘deadwood’.

Carl Jenkinson left for Birmingham on loan last week, while youngster Cohen Bramall also left to join up with Harry Redknapp’s side.

Lucas Perez is wanted by Deportivo La Coruna, while Kieran Gibbs is also close to joining West Brom.
