Arsene Wenger has confirmed at a press conference that a deal between Monaco and Arsenal for Thomas Lemar will not happen and The Gunners will not sign him.
Since Monaco’s amazing run the Champions League and them winning Ligue 1 ahead of PSG, many of their talents such as Kylian Mbappe and Lemar have been linked with moves away.
Lemar has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, especially with the future of Alexis Sanchez being very unclear for the majority of the transfer window.
However, Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has said a move for Lemar is “dead because Monaco have closed the door definitely”.

It is understandable as to why Monaco would have this stance on one of their best players.
With the departures of Bernardo Silva and Benjamin Mendy to Manchester City, Tiemoue Bakayoko to Chelsea and Mbappe edging closer to a move to fellow French side PSG, losing Lemar would diminish an already diminishing side even more.
There’s no doubt that Lemar is a key part in this Monaco side, with 55 appearances in all competitions last season and managing to bag 14 goals and 17 assists.
