# Golovin pleased to be linked with Arsenal

CSKA Moscow midfielder Aleksandr Golovin says it is a dream for any player to play in European competitions after seeing his name linked with Arsenal this summer.

Speaking to Express Sport, as reported by the [Metro](https://metro.co.uk/2017/08/17/cska-moscow-midfielder-aleksandr-golovin-admits-hes-pleased-by-arsenal-transfer-speculation-6858675/), Golovin admitted he was pleased with the transfer speculation.

> Of course, I will be pleased that such a club \[Arsenal\] is interested in me. In my opinion, every football player, regardless of their age, wants to play in Europe – I’m not an exception.

After some impressive performances in Russia, Golovin saw him name linked with moves to both Chelsea and Arsenal this summer, however, no deal has materialised as of yet.

Reports had suggested that a £10 million had been lodged by the Gunners, but those claims have been played down by CSKA Moscow’s general director Roman Babaev, who did confirm the Gunners had been scouting the player.

> No, CSKA did not receive an offer from Arsenal. I admit that the London club’s scouts viewed Alekandr \[during the\] Confederations Cup

After breaking into the first-time squad at CSKA, Golovin has gone onto to become a key part of their squad.
