Arsenal are closing to agreeing a deal with Valencia that will see Gabriel return to La Liga for just £10 million.
According to the Mirror, Arsenal are looking to trim their squad and Arsene Wenger is ready to offload the Brazilian, who hasn’t lived up to his potential since joining from Villarreal.
Gabriel, who is still recovering from a knee injury has never been able to hold down a place at the Emirates and the emergence of Rob Holding, who joined from Bolton is likely to soften the blow for the Gunners.
Holding impressed during the tail end of last season and has flourished in a back three system.
Arsenal stand to make a £5 million loss on the player who joined the club in 2015.
During his time at the Emirates, he lifted the FA Cup twice and also won two Community Shields with the Gunners.
