# Marseille keen on Debuchy

According to [L’Equipe,](https://www.lequipe.fr/) [via GFNF](https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2017/marseille-sound-out-mathieu-debuchy/), Marseille are weighing up an offer for Arsenal fullback Mathieu Debuchy.

The report claims that Marseille are very interested in signing the defender this summer as they look for a new right-back.

Debuchy is currently in talks with Arsenal to settle his contract and be able to leave the club for free.

This would make it easier for him to complete a move to Marseille – and would allow him to join a club even after the window closed.

Rudi Garcia, Marseille’s manager, worked with Debuchy at Lille, with the pair now looking set for a reunion.

Debuchy, arguably, played the best football of his career at Lille and will be looking to recapture his form in Ligue 1 next season if the deal goes through.

Arsenal are looking to move on a number of fringe players this summer, with Debuchy being one of them.
