# Man City set to offer Arsenal £60m for Alexis Sanchez

Despite Arsenal’s public stance that forward Alexis Sanchez is not for sale, Manchester City are set to test their resolve to keep him by making a bid of around £60m, according to the [Telegraph’s Matt Law](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/08/14/manchester-city-make-60m-bid-arsenal-forward-alexis-sanchez/).

The Chilean international is out of contract at the end of the season and as it stands, talks to sign him to an extension have proven to be unsuccessful.

City will apparently offer Sanchez around £400,000-a-week if they can convince Arsenal to sell him, something with the Gunners seem very reluctant to do.

Whether the reception of an actual big-money bid convinces Arsenal to sell up remains to be seen as it would make sense from a financial point of view, but not from a footballing one.

Selling a top player to a direct rival is never an ideal scenario but it could be difficult to turn down £60m for a player who could leave for nothing less than 12 months down the line.
