# Everton move reportedly appeals to Arsenal striker

According to reports in Italy today, Gunners forward Danny Welbeck is open to the prospect of signing for Everton this summer.

The England international has been linked with a switch to Merseyside in recent times, and it looks as though Everton’s apparent interest in the player is being reciprocated.

It’s claimed today by Italian news outlet [TMW](https://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/europa/everton-sfumato-giroud-koeman-continua-a-pensare-a-welbeck-1005459) that Welbeck is “very fond” of Toffees boss Ronald Koeman, who is on the lookout for a new striker for this season.

Romelu Lukaku’s departure has left Everton light up front, with Sandro Ramirez and Wayne Rooney the only established, senior strikers at Koeman’s disposal.

Welbeck opened his account for the season on Friday night, scoring [Arsenal](https://readarsenal.com/)’s second in a 4-3 win over [Leicester](https://readleicester.com/), and appears to be in Arsene Wenger’s plans.

However, with Alexandre Lacazette ahead of him in the pecking order, Welbeck may be tempted by the prospect of playing first-team football up top elsewhere.
