Theo Walcott: “It’s going to be different this year”

Theo Walcott is confident that Arsenal will put their last 14 years of Premier League heartbreak behind them this season and win the title for the first time since 2004, the Mirror reports.

Walcott, who has been at the club since 2006, says that year’s campaign will be different to previous years:

We know what we want to do this season. We know how important it is. Everyone’s up for the challenge – you know we do like a good challenge. It’s going to be different for us this year but it’s about the way we react, it’s as simple as that.

Arsenal backed up their shock victory over Chelsea in the FA Cup final back in May by again getting the better of the Blues at Wembley over the weekend, as the Gunners won the Community Shield on penalties.

Wenger’s side put in an impressive display at Wembley to fight back for the victory after going 1 – 0 down. A late Sead Kolasinac goal took the game straight to penalties, with Arsenal winning in the new format at Wembley.

Olivier Giroud scored the winning penalty to give the Gunners the first piece of silverware of the season.

The Gunners kick off their Premier League campaign on Friday night at home to Leicester City.
