Swansea set sights on Carl Jenkinson

The Mirror have reported that Swansea manager Paul Clement wants to bring in Carl Jenkinson from the shadows at Arsenal as he looks to strengthen his squad this summer.

After his injury which he suffered against Manchester City in January 2016 whilst on loan at West Ham, Jenkinson has struggled to get back to the promising full-back he once was.

The 25-year-old only made 12 appearances throughout the whole of last season, with the majority of these games playing for Arsenal’s under 23s. He only made one appearance in the Premier League as well which came against Manchester United, after suffering from numerous injuries.

Jenkinson is one of many players that Arsene Wenger is looking to move on this summer as he looks to fund a move for someone like Thomas Lemar, who they’ve been linked with almost all of the summer.

Fellow full-backs Mathieu Debuchy and Kieron Gibbs are also on the Frenchman’s list to leave the Emirates this summer.
