According to Football London, who cited beIN Sports, Roma are set to announce the signing of Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez this week, meaning Arsenal will miss out on the Algerian.
Mahrez has been linked with a move away from the King Power since Leicester’s amazing title-winning season, where he bagged 18 goals and 10 assists from 39 appearances in all competitions.
The Algerian winger has been linked with many clubs this and last summer, with Arsenal being the main club linked with the player but it looks very likely that they will miss out on him to Roma, who were only first linked very recently.

Arsenal wanted Mahrez as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, who’s reportedly very close to the exit door at the Emirates, with just one year remaining on his current contract.

Thomas Lemar and Kylian Mbappe from Monaco have both been linked as Sanchez’s replacement for the Gunners and Arsene Wenger may have to step up his efforts to sign either one of them now.
The fee for Mahrez is a reported £31 million which in this market, is a good deal so Arsenal may feel like they missed out on a top class signing.
