Arsenal were defeated by Sevilla this afternoon, but lifted the Emirates Cup in front of their home supporters.
The Gunners finished the mini-tournament level on points with today’s counterparts but scored more goals than them, subsequently meaning that they secured another pre-season trophy.
It was an end-to-end affair, and a good test for Arsenal. The game was played at a high tempo and several first-team players got more valuable minutes under their belts.
However, Sevilla took the plaudits from the match and opened the scoring through Joaquin Correa.
Arsenal bounced back though, having applied pressure to Eduardo Berizzo’s side. Alexandre Lacazette notched from close range on his home debut for the club, to make the score-line level.
A wonder strike from Steven N’Zonzi settled things though, as he caressed a left-footed shot beyond the reach of Petr Cech. It was, truth be told, an effort worthy of winning any match.
So, without further ado, take a look at how we rated Arsenal’s individual performances on the day.
