# Chelsea poised to make bid for Arsenal midfielder

Chelsea are reportedly plotting a move to sign Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and could lodge a bid imminently.

According to a report from the [Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/831831/Chelsea-News-Manchester-City-Transfer-News-Arsenal-News-Alex-Oxlade-Chamberlain), the Blues are growing increasingly keen to land the England international this summer as Antonio Conte looks to bolster his squad.

Oxlade-Chamberlain’s contract talks with [Arsenal](https://readarsenal.com/) don’t appear to be progressing as well as initially hoped, and this could prompt him to seek a move elsewhere.

Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for the ex-[Southampton](https://readsouthampton.com/) man, with Jurgen Klopp consistently touted as an admirer.

However, [Chelsea](https://readchelsea.com/) are looking set to give them a good battle for Oxlade-Chamberlain’s signature, and the report claims that a bid could be lodged within the coming days.

Manchester City have also been linked with a move for Oxlade-Chamberlain, but Chelsea and Liverpool appear to be the most interested parties.

Arsene Wenger will surely be hopeful of the midfielder staying put this summer.
