Marseille boss Rudi Garcia has addressed rumours linking Olivier Giroud with a summer move back to his home country.
As reported by the Evening Standard, Garcia confirmed that the French club will not be making a move for the player, telling reports ‘don’t dream’.
Don’t dream, he will not be coming.
Giroud has been linked with several clubs this summer following the signing of Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon.
West Ham and Everton have reportedly shown an interest, while Lyon and Marseille were also linked with the forward.
The report suggests that the player is willing to stay at the Emirates and fight for his place. Arsene Wenger is using to pre-season to figure out how to utilise the pair, who may well still feature in the same team this season.
With the World Cup just around the corner, Giroud may need to consider leaving in search of regular first-team football to hold down his place in the French squad if he does lose his place in the Arsenal starting XI.
