Arsenal are set to join Tottenham in race to sign Everton midfielder Ross Barkley, according to a report in the Evening Standard,
Barkley has been on Tottenham’s radar all summer but them being slow in the pursuit for the Englishmen could lead to their North London rivals joining in the race.

Arsenal and Tottenham have had completely different transfer windows so far, with Arsenal spending big on Alexandre Lacazette. On the other hand, Spurs’ major business has been selling Kyle Walker to Manchester City for £50m, meaning they have more in the kitty if they do want to sign Barkley.
Barkley has recently had surgery on a hernia which will rule him out for about a month but he will be fit by the end of August. The England international is about to enter the final year of his contract at Everton and with there being no indications of him extending his current deal, it looks like he will leave Goodison Park this summer.
