Arsenal are looking to sign Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka, according to print edition of German publication SportBild.
The report says that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been watching Goretzka for a number of months, and wants to make him an Arsenal player this summer.
Arsenal face significant competition for the German, however. Premier League rivals Manchester City and Liverpool are both keen on signing the 22-year-old, while Champions League winners Real Madrid are also a possible suitor.

However, Schalke have said that they do not wish to sell Goretzka, even though he will be out of contract next year. The report suggests that a fee in the region of €20-30m will still not be enough to tempt the German side to let the midfielder go.
Goretzka joined Schalke in 2013 from boyhood club VfL Bochum, and since has made 118 appearances, scored 15 goals and set up a further 12 for his team mates.
