Arsenal defender Calum Chambers has reportedly been subject to a £16m bid from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace.
According to the Telegraph this evening, the Eagles are holding a genuine interest in landing the England Under-21 international and have submitted a formal offer.
Chambers spent last season on loan at relegated Middlesbrough but enjoyed a good amount of game-time, impressing in what was a hugely disappointing campaign for Boro.
However, it looks as though he is surplus to requirements at the Emirates and this could lead to Arsene Wenger offloading him this summer.
Chambers was signed by Arsenal in 2014 for a fee of £16m, and while they are reportedly keen to make a profit from his sale, recouping the money paid out for the defender would be considered as good business.
With the likes of Laurent Koscielny, Shkodran Mustafi, Gabriel Paulista and Rob Holding ahead of him in the pecking order, Chambers doesn’t look to have a future in North London.
