The midfielder is held in high regard out in Germany and has impressed in the youth ranks for Frankfurt.
Barkok has reportedly been watched by Arsene Wenger on several occasions and given that a bid is said to have been made, the consensus is that the Frenchman likes what he sees in the young talent.
At just 19-years-old, Barkok made his senior debut for Frankfurt last term, with Niko Kovac rewarding him with six starts and 12 substitute appearances. He netted twice, and also notched two assists.
The German midfielder is sure to have plenty of clubs chasing him this summer after such an impressive breakthrough season, but the Gunners appear to be keen on getting in early and landing the promising youngster.
