Spanish forward Lucas Perez is nearing closer to the exit door with a return to La Liga side Deportivo de La Coruña a likely option, according to the Mirror.
Since moving to the Emirates Stadium last summer, Perez has failed to force his way into Arsene Wenger’s plans and the recent arrival of French striker Alexandre Lacazette will only push Perez further down the pecking order.
Perez spent three seasons at Deportivo, which included an impressive 2015/16 campaign where he scored 17 goals in 36 La Liga appearances. This impressive season ultimately earned him a move to North London for a reported fee of £17.1 million.
While Perez’s game time has been limited at Arsenal, he has often impressed when given the chance in cup competitions, grabbing a brace against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup and scoring a hat-trick in The Gunners’ 4-1 victory over Basel in the Champions League group stages.
The report states that Perez’s return to Spain could be confirmed in the next few days.
