# Arsenal set asking price for out of favour defender

Kieran Gibbs is widely expected to leave Arsenal this summer, and it’s not looking as though the club will stand in his way.

Speculation has been mounting regarding his future in recent weeks and according to a recent report from the [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/arsenal-slap-8million-price-tag-10721357), the Gunners are willing to accept offers of £8m and above for the Englishman.

Gibbs has been largely kept out of the team by Nacho Monreal in recent times, prompting him to grow frustrated on the sidelines.

The 27-year-old has just one year remaining on his current deal at the Emirates and as he approaches his 30’s, he’s sure to be keen on playing consistent first-team football.

Gibbs is claimed to be demanding a contract of around £70k per week, which could put several clubs off pursuing him.

Newcastle are one of those cited with interest, along with Marco Silva’s Watford side.

Gibbs made just ten Premier League appearances last term in what was a season to forget for the defender.
