Watford boss Marco Silva is eyeing up a move for Arsenal left-back Kieran Gibbs this summer.
According to the Mirror, Silva is ‘determined’ to bring Gibbs to Vicarage Road for next season as he looks to strengthen his defence.
Silva joined Watford as manager from relegated Hull City this summer and has already identified left-back as a weak spot and wants to add the England international to his side.
The report claims that Arsenal want £15m for the 27-year-old but Watford are not prepared to go that high, with the Gunners likely to reduce their asking price.
Stoke and Brighton are also holding tentative interest – with neither side willing to pay £15m.
Gibbs started eight Premier League games last season but his chances appear to be more limited by the arrival of Sead Kolisinac from Schalke.
Watford could turn their attention to Middlesbrough’s George Friend if they fail in their pursuit of Gibbs.
