Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud could be a Lyon player for the 2017/18 season as Arsene Wenger doesn’t see the French target man as part of his plans for the forthcoming season.
Twitter: Olivier Giroud is not part of Arsène Wenger’s plans for the 2017/18 campaign & Lyon are interested, according to tomorrow’s L’Équipe. (@GFFN)
Giroud bagged 12 in 29 Premier League games last season for the Gunners so it is hard to see why Arsene Wenger doesn’t see him as part of his plans, especially because of the Alexis Sanchez contract situation.
Arsenal have been linked with the Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette in recent weeks, so Giroud could be part of a deal to bring Lacazette to the Emirates for next season?
Giroud has also been heavily linked with a move to West Ham with various news sources claiming he wants to stay in London, however, a move back to his home country with Lyon in could be more tempting for the forward.
Lyon will be interested as Lacazette will probably move on soon so they’ll be frantically looking for a replacement and Giroud is more than capable of filling in the gap but they will have to fight off West Ham for his signature.
