# Koscielny discusses Marseille links

Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny has discussed the recent rumours linking him with a move to Marseille, reaffirming his commitment to the cause at the Emirates.

The France international appeared on TV show Téléfoot and, as quoted by the [Evening Standard](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/laurent-koscielny-reaffirms-commitment-to-arsenal-amid-marseille-transfer-speculation-a3562361.html), admitted that while he could not make any promises as to whether he’d one day join the Ligue 1 club, he’s happy at Arsenal.

> I feel very good over there (at Arsenal). I have always said that I was a Marseille fan when I was younger. When a mythical club like Marseille contact you, it is good. But will I sign for them? I have no idea at all.

Koscielny enjoyed another strong campaign at the back for the Gunners and will be looking to build on that in the 2017/18 season, beginning in August.

The powerful defender started and played out the full 90 minutes in France’s recent World Cup 2018 qualifier against Sweden, but could not prevent his men from losing 2-1 in the dying moments. Teammate and compatriot Olivier Giroud netted for Didier Deschamps’ side.

Koscielny reiterated that his contract at Arsenal will run until 2020 and implied that he has no intentions of leaving this summer, which can only be good news for the North London club and their fans.

> I have a contract with Arsenal, I even signed an extension last November \[the club confirmed the deal in January\] until 2020.
