Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin has been linked with Barcelona for some time now, and the Spanish giants are reportedly confident of signing him.
According to a report today from the Independent, the Catalan club are quietly confident of sealing a deal to bring Bellerin back to the Nou Camp for a fee worth £45m. This would be the highest ever for a right-back.
Bellerin didn’t have the best season for the Gunners and did come under some heavy criticism from his own supporters midway through the campaign. This has been a factor in prompting him to be reportedly keen on a switch to Barca this summer.
However, this year’s Copa Del Rey winners do have a backup plan if a move to sign Bellerin does fall through, with Benfica defender Nelson Semedo lined up as a potential new signing.
Arsenal will be keen to keep hold of Bellerin this summer but could struggle to ward off such a bid from a club as big as Barcelona.
