Arsenal have struggled at right-back in recent times, but could they be about to make a move to bring back one of their former stars?
According to the Daily Star, Arsenal are considering an approach to re-sign Bacary Sagna following his release from Manchester City.
Sagna spent seven years with the Gunners following a £7.65m move from Auxerre in 2007 where he scored five times and provided 28 assists in 285 appearances, cementing himself as one of the Premier League’s top right-backs.
In 2014, the 34-year-old decided to leave the Emirates to join Manchester City on a three-year deal when his Arsenal contract expired and he was always competing with Pablo Zabaleta for game-time at the Etihad.
Capped 65 times by France, Sagna was among those released by City at the end of the season but he still has many suitors in the Premier League as Southampton, Newcastle and Crystal Palace are said to be keen on signing the experienced defender
