Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are set to battle for the signature of highly rated Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar, according to a report from Football London, who quote L’Equipe.
The Gunners have already had a €100million bid for Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe rejected and it seems that they also want his French team-mate.

Spurs have been tracking Lemar for a long time and are ready to make a move for the player, but Arsenal have stepped in and are looking to hijack the player from their North London rivals.
Lemar scored nine goals and registered 10 assists on Monaco’s road to becoming Ligue 1 Champions this season.
However, Spurs have the attraction of UEFA Champions League football next season, whereas Arsenal failed to qualify for the tournament for the first time in 20 years as they finished 5th in the Premier League, meaning they have qualified for the Europa League.

But it is reported that missing out on Champions League football isn’t an issue for the Frenchman. Lemar, 21, is looking for long-term success and could be available for as little as £25million this summer.
Monaco have already sold playmaker Bernardo Silva to Manchester City and it seems like it is going to be a transfer window of struggle for the French Champions as major European clubs are interested in signing their influential players.
