Lacazette has led the line brilliantly for Lyon out in France since bursting onto the scene, and has been the subject of much speculation for a number of years now.

The Frenchman has confirmed his intentions to depart Lyon this summer and Arsenal, having been perennially linked with him, look to be ahead in the race to sign him.

Atletico Madrid were initially believed to have been at the front of the queue to acquire Lacazette but as a result of their transfer embargo not being lifted, they are now out of the race.

The Gunners could, however, face competition from Manchester United this summer as L’Equipe, once again cited by GFFN, state that the Red Devils have enquired.
