Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed Arsenal, Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund target Alexandre Lacazette’s next club.
Aulas has revealed that the French striker has a verbal agreement in place to join Atletico Madrid this summer after being granted his wish to leave Lyon.
Aulas told French outlet, L’Equipe that the transfer will be done on Lyon’s terms.
“Alex has a verbal agreement with a club, Atletico, but there is no certainty, since we have to wait for CAS to lift the ban on recruitment. We accepted Alex’s request to discuss exclusively with this club, but the other side of that is that this transfer is made on our terms,” Aulas explained.
Lacazette has long been linked with a move to the Premier League and Arsenal in particular, but Arsene Wenger appears to have missed out on the prolific striker.
The Frenchman was linked with a move to the Emirates last summer and those links resurfaced throughout the season, with Lacazette enjoying another successful campaign with Lyon.
The Lyon forward scored an impressive 28 league goals for Lyon, making him the second highest goalscorer in the French league.
Atletico Madrid are currently banned from signing players but are expecting to hear a decision from their court case this month.
